We had a 'one night stand'.....

We spent our May Day in Chinatown this year, enjoying and taking part in some fun First Friday festivities. For those of you who don't know, every first Friday of every month, Chinatown turns into one huge art gallery. Venues all around Chinatown host different artists and showcase their work, be it jewelry, painting, pottery, photography, or even body painting!

Last December, we met a woman who said she'd love to have us as one of her featured artists in the venue that she runs, the Chinatown Courtyard. It's a small hidden courtyard in the Mendoca building, tucked away between Smith & Maunakea.

We found a great hidden gem here, Starpoint Cafe. Owner Kate Wagner makes the most incredible desserts, including a to-die-for haupia bread pudding. Made without using any refined sugars, we told ourselves that we were still eating 'healthy' so that having TWO servings of her bread pudding was prefectly fine. She also offers a rotating menu of entrees using lots of local and/or organic ingredients. If you can't stop by Starpoint Cafe during the work week, she's also at KCC's Farmer's Market on Saturdays, offering her yummy desserts!

Oh yeah, the reason why we were here: John's photography. =P The bread pudding was so good, we almost forgot about that. Seriously.
